DandyLine requires Gardeners to be at least 13 years old in the United States and at least 16 in the European Union (per GDPR Article 8). By creating an account, you confirm you meet the age requirement in your jurisdiction.
You also agree to use accurate information when signing up, and to keep your account secure. If you sign in with Google or Apple, you're also bound by their respective terms.
You can plant photos, video, voice recordings, and text. Anything you plant must be content you have the right to plant — yours, or shared with explicit permission.
What's not allowed, regardless of intent or context:
If we detect any of the above during the one quiet check before sealing, the Seed will not be sealed and your account may be reviewed.
When you plant a Seed and seal it (set a bloom condition — a date, age, milestone, location, or recipient), the Seed is encrypted with keys our engineers cannot access. From that moment until the bloom condition is met, no one can read what's inside — including us.
This is core to the product. We cannot retrieve the contents of a sealed Seed for legal or technical reasons until the bloom condition is met. If you forget what you planted, you'll find out when it blooms.
DandyLine is currently free. There is a free-tier storage cap (the exact amount is being finalized — see our Privacy Policy for current technical details). What you've planted under the free tier will continue to be preserved within that cap, even after Pro features launch.
Pro features will be a paid tier offering additional storage, premium Bloom Modes, and other features. Pricing and features are not yet finalized. When Pro launches, you'll have full visibility before any paid commitment.
While DandyLine is in its web-app phase (before native iOS/Android apps ship), notifications are delivered via SMS. We cover the cost of sending those messages. Your wireless carrier may charge you standard messaging rates on receipt, depending on your plan. You can turn off SMS notifications at any time from the Gardener Menu.
DandyLine includes features for delivering Seeds after a planter has died (Legacy Vaults, Guardian assignments). These features rely on legal frameworks (RUFADAA in the U.S. and equivalent statutes elsewhere) that vary by jurisdiction. The closed-beta cohort is U.S.-based; international support and full posthumous-delivery legal compliance is being developed with counsel.
If you assign a Guardian, you're authorizing them to act on your behalf in defined ways (verifying death, releasing held-in-trust Seeds). Specifics are governed by the in-app Guardian Agreement, which the Guardian must accept when assigned.
You can close your account at any time from the Gardener Menu. When you do, your active sealed Seeds will need to be either pressed (preserved permanently in your Pressed Flowers archive, exportable), released (permanently composted), or transferred to a Guardian (if applicable). The full closure flow will guide you through these choices.
Already-bloomed Seeds delivered to other Gardeners persist in their accounts — we cannot retract a memory you sent them. They can choose to delete or preserve those Seeds at their discretion.
DandyLine is currently in closed beta with a small cohort of hand-picked users. Things will change. Features may evolve, copy may shift, and the formal legal framework will be added before public launch. We will notify you of material changes; you'll always be able to read the current version of these terms here.
DandyLine is provided as-is during closed beta. We make no warranties beyond what is required by law. We are committed to not losing your data — every sealed Seed is replicated to backup storage — but we cannot guarantee perfect uptime or zero data loss. The full liability and warranty terms will be detailed in the post-legal-review version.
This is a draft. The post-legal-review version will replace it before public launch. Material changes during closed beta will be communicated by email to all Gardeners.
